NIHIL is the artistic practice of Montréal-based artist Laurie, whose detailed pen-and-ink works draw inspiration from medieval and Renaissance art, historical attitudes toward death and the afterlife, the natural world, and black metal. Working primarily in black pencil and ink, she creates intricate, meditative pieces that blend beauty, decay, and symbolism. Her artwork is reproduced on archival-quality Entrada paper, and she continues to expand her practice through new mediums, collaborations, exhibitions, and markets.
